A polemic.
I think we all agree that prejudiced discrimination is bad, right? Right.
What I think is fun is watching people argue about which groups are the most discriminated against. I think that’s like the funnest thing ever.
For government-authorised systemic discrimination, the group that is shit out of luck is childless single men under the age of 30. They pay the highest proportion of their income in taxes. They use the lowest proportion of government services (almost zero). They receive little to no government assistance. As time goes on, most of the things they like to do (drink, smoke, take drugs, drive fast, hunt, fish, see bands, see live sport) are either being taxed out of existence, or the morality police are campaigning to change them so they no longer appeal to young men.
The constant message to young men is this: there is a problem in society, and it is you.
The kicker, at least in this country, is that they also kill themselves in numbers so high as to beggar belief. Yet almost nobody stands on the side of young men because they have been demonised as the source of society’s ills.
