This time last year, I was in Canada. Snowboarding. It was excellent.
When I got back, the fear of a tanking economy caused most of my clients to cancel all of their projects. I laid off almost all of my staff, used most of my savings to keep the rest in paid employment, and went without any personal income for 6 months.
2009 was a tight year.
I just got off the phone from a client just now telling them that as much as I want to work on their new project, we’re just unable to squeeze it into the studio for the next month. For the first time in a year, we turned down good work for a great client because we’re just too busy.
2010, I like you a lot better than 2009. You’re not perfect, but hell, you’ll do.
