It’s not that we’re not visiting because we don’t like the place. We’re just sick of being treated like shit when we arrive. If you want more people to visit, maybe treat them with dignity at customs and immigration. Making us queue for 3 hours just to get fingerprinted and photographed on arrival is not really making us feel welcome.

The day before I get on a plane to head overseas is always terrible. You know when you get ready to leave the house and you worry that maybe you left the stove on, or the bath running or whatever?

It’s like that, but once you’re locked in a tube for 16 hours, there’s nothing you can do to fix any problems.
